On April 27, 2026, my husband mentioned he was planning a golf night with his buddies. Instead, I suggested we make it a golf date night, just the two of us. What could have been an ordinary evening turned into one of the most unforgettable moments of my life.

By the time we reached the 13th hole at Bucks Club, dusk was settling in. It's a challenging uphill par 3, protected by a deep, overgrown ravine that has claimed more than its fair share of golf balls. Expecting there was a good chance I'd lose one, I reached into my bag for a ball I wasn't particularly attached to (a Titleist 1).

I teed it up, took a smooth swing with my trusty driver, and watched in amazement as the ball carried over the ravine, landed softly on the green, and started rolling straight toward the pin. From the tee box, it looked like it might have disappeared, but with the uphill slope and fading light, neither of us could tell for sure.

We drove the cart around the thick brush and up the winding path toward the green. My heart was racing the entire way. As soon as we got close enough, I jumped out of the cart and sprinted to the hole. I looked down into the cup and sure enough, there she was, sitting at the bottom.

    My very first hole-in-one.

BEST DAY EVER!! I was stunned, shocked, overjoyed trying to process what had just happened, while my husband looked equally shocked (and maybe just a little jealous). We just could not believe it.

Because it was nearly dark, the 13th hole was our last of the evening, and the pro shop had already closed. The next morning, I stopped by the club to share the news. Joe, the golf professional, congratulated me, took me back out to the 13th hole so I could claim the flag, and snapped a few celebratory photos. It was the perfect way to relive such an unforgettable moment.

What started as a simple golf date night became one of the greatest memories I've ever made on a golf course. I'll always remember choosing time together over separate plans, trusting a Titleist ball I wasn't afraid to lose, and racing up that hill at sunset to find it waiting for me in the bottom of the cup.
