  1. Hole #3 "The Rock" at Evergreen, CO golf course. It was playing 107 yds on 5/28/26 and when you walk on the Tee you cannot see the green. They didn't name this hole "The Rock" for no reason, there is a huge 20 foot boulder between the tee and the green which blocks your view of the green. The only thing you can do is take a drive to the green to see where the pin placement is and then go back to the tee and hit. So i took out my pitching wedge and hit what I thought was a decent shot, I was hopeful I was on the green. My partner Rick Pollick of Evergreen hit his shot and unfortunately hit a tree right next to "The Rock" dead center. He punched out with a decent shot. As we drove up to the green there was one ball on the green and I said, "that must be mine". Rick immediately said, "nope, that's mine". Rick confirmed that his ball was one th green, so where was mine? As i approached the green I saw an elk (which this course always has a lot of) standing in the trap next to the green. I approached carefully due to it being calving season and elk get pretty protective. Nope, not in the trap so I continued my search but couldn't locate my ball. I looked back at Rick and noticed he was standing next to the pin pointing down at the hole, I said "no way!!!. Sure enough, there it was, in the hole. My first hole in hole after playing 36 years. What a thrill!!!
