It was a rare getting my superintendent to join me and my maintenance colleagues for a round of golf after work. On this day though, he decided to treat us to a round at a near by executive course for a quick nine holes. He is an ex college golfer and still was a stick but had never gotten an ace. We all step up to the third tee box, a 215 yard middle pin, and I struck my 4-iron with a perfect baby draw, shaping the water line to the right of cart path. The ball landed on the front and trickled to the hole and dropped. It was special to be able to rub that in his face for the next few weeks!
