Great day on the course

  1. I played in a team event today at my home course Balboa Park Golf course in San Diego. I had a pretty consistent round most of the day. After a double bogey on hole 16 one of the toughest holes on the course, I stepped up to the tee box on 17. 17 is a 167-yard par 3 from an elevated tee box that plays about 20 yards less depending on wind speed and direction. My partner hit his tee shot about 5 feet from the hole, a great shot that put us in position to make birdie for the team. I teed up the same Titleist I had been playing all day that I retrieved from the bushes on the previous hole. I hit a ¾ 7 iron that bounced about 6 feet in front of the pin and landed in the hole for an Ace.... Eagle for the team and put us in great position to win the overall low score for the team, not to mention low net for the day for me. I ended up carding a par on 18 after a huge drive that put me 50 yards out. In the clubhouse we confirmed that our team had won our flight, I won a couple hundred for the hole in one, we tied for the overall team score from all of the flights. I had to buy a few beers for the guys in the clubhouse, a small price to pay for a great shot with a great ball, Titleist!
