It was a beautiful sunny day on May 6, 2025 as I played a round with my wife at North Greens Golf Course in Atlanta, IL. When we got to Hole #8 (the "island hole"), I used my Garmin to determine the distance to the hole. It indicated the hole was 160 yards away from the tee box and I usually can hit my 7 iron 155 yards so I pulled that club out of the bag. Upon impact, the ball sailed high into the air and headed directly towards the flag. I was thinking to myself, "This should leave me with a birdie putt if it lands and holds." The ball landed about 6 feet in front of the hole, bounced once, and went directly into the hole from there. My wife said, "I think that went in!" I said, "I think it did too, but won't get too excited until we get down there." Since the hole is an "island hole" we had to park our cart and walk across the land bridge to get to the green. My heart was beating a little harder as I crossed that bridge. When I got to the hole and looked down, it was a beautiful sight. My first hole in one using a Titleist Pro V1 with the number 1 stamped on it. An unforgettable memory for sure!
