May 18th, 2025. Diamond Springs Golf Course, Hamilton MI. I have been golfing consistently since about 8 years old, currently playing off of a 2 handicap. After what felt like too many near misses already in my lifetime I was finally able to get one to go in, destroying that feeling in an instant. The blue tees were playing up that day, only 129 yards from the tips. I hit a high 50* wedge and thought the ball was going to end up about 15-20 feet short but still have a great look for birdie as it was dead on line. To my surprise the ball landed about 3 feet in front of the cup and one hopped into the flag stick. I thought I had left the ball just short of the cup but one of my buddies and group mates that day grabbed his rangefinder, shooting the ball and cup telling me "I think it's in the hole." I immediately took off for the bridge to cross the ravine and take me to the green where when I got up there, could see the ball resting against the flag. I pulled the flag back with my buddies looking on and watched the ball drop into the cup. One of the most surreal feelings in my life coming to fruition with my buddies there to watch. Could not ask for anything different to have happened for my first Ace. Beautiful hole, course and day!
