The Pin was at the back of green so playing 210 Yards, usually play a chunked down soft Titleist 5 wood, but decided to play my 3 Iron. Hit it right out the middle and could see it heading right towards the flag, the hole has a steep 20 foot bank up to the green so I was hoping it drew to the green….. it landed about 1-2 yards before the flag (relief), then rolled towards the pin and hey ho, it seemed to disappear. My playing partner said it had gone in, celebrations begin. What a hole to get an Ace on. My first in nearly 40 years of playing golf, plenty of close misses, never on a 200 yard par 3, and especially the 9th at Brancepeth. What a day, bought everyone a drink in the bar and left some money behind the bar for others. As a golfer should do.
