  1. I've been going back and forth with my AP2 714 stock pitching wedge 45* and 46* Vokey all season. I like the spin and control of the Vokey but I feel like I sacrifice distance compared to the stock club.

Anyone else experiment with this combo? Would increasing shaft length or bending the Vokey increase distance?

  2. I have experimented with both and prefer the Vokey since it offers more control IMHO...You can always bend the wedge 1 or 2 degrees strong to gain more distance however keep in mind you may need to adjust your other wedges so you do not create any gaps. JAT

I've switched from the 714 MB PW which was (47*) to the Vokey SM6 46* with the same shaft... goes about the same length. Launch was a hair lower however, which I prefer.

I've been using a 46* Vokey SM6 since it was released rather than an AP1 PW and I have definitely noticed a slight drop off in distance but I like the way the gapping at the bottom end of my bag is set up so am quite happy to sacrifice a little distance if it means a bit more consistency (god knows I need as much of that as possible in this game!!)

You could increase shaft length or bend the club to lower the loft but as Chris said you'd have to take into consideration how that will affect your gapping with your other wedges.
  5. I found the AP1 wedge with my fitted set and a stock Vokey of the same degrees were also different by 8-10 yards on a full swing. I ended up carrying both of them. I presumed it may have been the shaft - S300 vrs what I think is a S200 (wedge flex) as they say not that the club head could not also contribute.
