Dear Team Titleist,
I'm heartbroken to let you know that our dear friend, Gordon "Skip" Guss passed away earlier this week after a long and courageous battle against cancer. Skip was a highly respected teacher, PGA Professional, and Titleist staff member. He was a key contributor and collaborator who helped shape our efforts to provide high quality performance improvement content for the Titleist community.
The word "passionate" is thrown around very loosely these days, but Skip truly embodied the word. His love for golf and his love for helping people was genuine and infectious. He embraced life and had a hunger for knowledge that I have never seen in a person so accomplished. I think that was probably the key to his success - Skip was a great teacher because he was such a great learner.
With the help of his best friend and fellow Titleist staffer, Mark Heartfield, Skip helped us develop our first Team Titleist Academy events here on Cape Cod - learning experiences for TT members that have since grown and become marquee events on the Team Titleist calendar.
Skip left us with a wealth of happy memories and keen insights into the game we love. I was very fortunate to spend a lot of time with Skip - both at his GolfRite teaching facility in Southborough, Massachusetts and on set when Skip filmed a variety of content for Titleist.com. Here's one of my favorite videos that we filmed together at the Titleist Performance Center at Manchester Lane. Talk about soft hands around the green!

From all of us at Titleist, our hearts go out to Skip's family and friends, and all the countless golfers and non-golfers whose lives are richer and more joyful for having known Skip. He was one of a kind and we will keep him in our hearts forever. Thank you, Skip!
A celebration of Skip's life will take place later this year.
