WEIR PUTTS TO VICTORY AT THE MASTERS

Weir and Titleist at the Masters. A perfect fit.

While millions watched in anticipation as the final round drama of The Masters unfolded, Mike Weir made history with a nearly flawless performance to capture his first major championship and third come-from-behind victory of the season. Trusting the New Titleist Pro V1 golf ball and a fearless putting stroke, Weir's 4-under par 68 secured a position in a playoff, which he won on the first extra hole.

"I made a number of putts that were just difficult," said Weir in an exclusive post-tournament interview with www.titleist.co.uk. "You're never going to have a straight putt at Augusta, really. You're always playing a little break. And that's what really won me the tournament. That's what I'll remember most about this week and this event - the way I putted."

Weir topped the leaderboard at the year's first major that was packed with Titleist players who made up nine of the 12 golfers who finished among the top 10 and ties:

Weir in the World is Mike?

With the victory, Weir improved to No. 5 in the World Rankings, placing among several fellow Titleist golf ball loyalists who occupy positions 2 through 8. Weir follows World No. 2 Ernie Els (Pro V1x), No. 3 Phil Mickelson (Pro V1x) and No. 4 Davis Love III (Pro V1x), and is ahead of No. 6 Vijay Singh (Pro V1x), No. 7 David Toms (New Pro V1) and No. 8 Retief Goosen (Pro V1x). In addition, Weir secured the richest single winner’s check of his career - $1.080 million – and vaulted to the top of the 2003 PGA Tour Money List with over $3 million in official earnings already this year. Twelve of the top 15 players on the 2003 PGA Tour Money List trust the Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf balls for their success.
